Ben is now nearly 4 and has just spent 6 weeks in Gt. Ormond St. Hospital (Jan 4-Feb12) following 2 weeks in Colchester General Hospital. He is now home and fed on TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition – see Google!). Helen and I had to undergo 2 weeks training at the hospital in order to administer this overnight pump infusion feed and all the sterile techniques that go with it. He is on 6 months gut rest in the hope that it will begin to heal itself. Therefore the feed goes directly into the bloodstream. He will have Endoscopy and Colonoscopy in a few months to see how the gut is doing and we’ll see what happens from there.
Izzy is enjoying her 2nd year at school. She was very patient and good whilst we were away at the hospital and was looked after by her Nana and Grandad, who are a tremendous support for us.
I became a grandfather on 30th December to Evie Taylor, daughter of Hannah and Simon. She’s gorgeous!
Blake’s new album ‘Together’ was released in October 2009. I arranged and conducted it all in Prague. About to commence arrangements for Duc Tuan – big singing star in Vietnam and very much looking forward to going there twice this year to conduct concerts for him. His new album will be recorded in Prague later this year.
Pressure of time has forced me to wind up the Castle Hedingham Music Festival after five successful years. Hopefully we’ll be able to produce the odd ‘one-off’ concert in the village from time to time.
